Data Cabling Installation

We offer a full data cabling installation which enables you to connect your phones, computers, faxes, printers and other network equipment back to a conveniently situated cabinet, allowing you to move your services to different internal locations easily.

This cabinet can also contain your routers, computer switches and maybe even your telephone system. We can install this for you, using Category 5e or Category 6 data cable.

Fibre Optic Cabling

Fibre optic cabling is the perfect way to provide fast data links to areas in your business that are out of the specifications of category 5e/6 data cable. Running fibre cable between data cabinets is a specialist job that needs to be done with care.

Frequently Asked Questions

Data cabling, also known as structured cabling, refers to the physical infrastructure used to transmit data within a network. It includes cables, connectors, and related hardware. It is crucial for creating a reliable and efficient network by providing a standardised and organised way to connect devices such as computers, VoIP telephones, WiFi points and other networked equipment.

Common types of data cables used in networking include:
Ethernet Cables
(Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, Cat7): Used for wired Ethernet networks.
Fiber Optic Cables:
Transmit data using light signals, offering high bandwidth and long-distance capabilities.

These are different categories of Ethernet cables with varying performance characteristics:
Cat5e (Category 5e):
Supports speeds up to 1 Gbps and is suitable for most common networking applications.
Cat6 (Category 6): Provides higher performance with support for speeds up to 10 Gbps, often used in environments with greater data transfer requirements.
Cat6a (Category 6a): Offers enhanced performance over Cat6, supporting speeds up to 10 Gbps over longer distances and with improved crosstalk protection.

A WiFi connection is great for flexibility and if you are constantly on the move. However, a hardwired connection will allow you to get the most out of your available bandwidth. A good WiFi connection can be sporadic and have ‘black spots’. Whereas a hardwired connection will give you the most reliable service.
