About Carlton Packaging
Carlton Packaging design and supply smart packaging materials and processes for fulfilment operations throughout Europe. With over 20 years of consistent, quality design and supply to organisations throughout Europe they work with their fulfilment clients to reduce packaging costs, reduce packaging waste, and increase packaging process speed. Barton Telecom Services have worked with Carlton Packaging for over 15 years. During this time, we have over seen various premise moves as their business outgrew existing sites in Bletchley, Milton Keynes and most recently Bedfordshire. Providing more up to date technologies to allow their business to thrive with the most advanced VoIP solutions.
Requirements
Carlton Packaging were set to move to a brand-new office & distribution centre based in Bedfordshire. As part of this move, they needed to upgrade to a more flexible VoIP phone system to allow them to temporarily work between sites and support remote working requirements. Carlton Packaging were using a Panasonic NS700 telephone system with a mixture of digital and IP telephones on SIP trunks. This solution was ideal for many years, however as the Covid pandemic hit in 2020, the need for home working increased which then meant the Panasonic phone system was no longer the most affect solution on the market for them.
Carlton Packaging wanted to mainly work through PC softphones with some physical handset for reception staff and shared areas.
Solution
We worked with Carlton Packaging and the other contractors from the start to ensure we were all providing systems that could link in seamlessly together. This included a VoIP phone solution which could integrate with PC’s, smartphones, door entry and a paging system. After some thorough testing, we installed a Wildix phone system which worked to all of the customers’ requirements. It has many more advanced features that the customer is interested in exploring in the future, as their business settles into their new home.
Impact & Advantages
The customer has now been able to distribute Wildix PC softphones to all users and fit handsets for reception staff and shared areas. Their large warehouse has a full WiFi coverage, meaning warehouse staff can utilise the Wildix mobile app when required. Carlton Packaging have various video door phone locations, these now integrate to the Wildix Collaboration PC softphone and smartphone app. Allowing them to see who the visitor is, before granting them access to site. Carlton Packaging now have a flexible VoIP phone system that allows them to be contactable from anywhere..
