About CDR Pumps
CDR Pumps have been designing and manufacturing chemical process pumps for over sixty years.
Expansion into plastic pumps began in the early 1970s and CDR Pumps were one of the pioneers in the use of plastic materials for the manufacture of pumps for aggressive environments using materials such as Solid block Polypropylene and PVDF.
Barton Telecom Services have been looking after CDR pumps for many years and have overseen various premises moves and upgrades of phone systems & broadbands.
Requirements
CDR Pumps were using a very old Panasonic phone system with analogue lines. Due to the age of the system and the ever-approaching ISDN/PSTN switch off, they needed to look at upgrading their system to a VoIP solution.
As they were going to be adding more devices to their internal computer network, we also recommended that they upgraded their broadband service to cope with the extra traffic and bandwidth requirements.
CDR Pumps also had a business mobiles package that was coming to an end and asked us to see what we could do in terms of a refresh of the mobile handsets and also the contract bundle.

Solution
After understanding CDR Pumps initial requirements, we invited them to our demonstration suite, where we were able to show them the different VoIP solutions we offer. We spoke about the various options and different features available to them and came to realise we had the perfect solution for them.
The Wildix VoIP phone system enables all users to have their own PC softphone and mobile softphone. They are also able to have physical handsets for the users than require them.
The Wildix phone system offers them the flexibility they needed for their employees working both in the office and remotely.
Before we install a VoIP phone system, we always ensure the customers broadband is going to be good enough to cope with the extra traffic. We recommended having a full fibre broadband circuit install.
Lastly, we had a look over their current mobile contract and provided them with several different options including a hardware lease, an option to purchase the phones outright and a variety of different data bundle options for a SIM only deal.
Impact & Advantages
CDR Pumps have now been able to provide each staff member with a PC softphone/desk phone where required. Giving them the flexibility to work remotely and increase productivity by not being tied to one single location.
Another advantage of CDR Pumps upgrading to a VoIP phone system is that they will no longer be affected by the ISDN/PSTN switch off in 2025.
We ensured that the transition from the legacy Panasonic telephone system to the VoIP solution was seamless. With the correct planning and setting up the VoIP phone system at a time to suit the customer, we were able to make sure the customer had minimal down time.
We installed a full fibre broadband service for the customer, which has given them a huge increase in speed and bandwidth available. Meaning there is no business interruption caused by slow internet or a breakup of voice traffic.
The customer selected a mobile package that best suited their needs and budget. Being flexible with our pricing and options meant they were able to mix and match tariffs and select a range of different mobile phones to suit different job roles. While keeping cost down and within budget
